US Drivers Press Conference

Some of the drivers talk to the media ahead of the US Grand Prix this weekend.

Question to Hulkenberg – “Why was this the right move for you now?

Hulkenberg – “I’ve come a long way with Force India and I’ve felt that it’s now time for a change – I’ve always wanted to drive for a manufacture team and I think I’ve made the right decision at the right time and a good decision from my side.

Question to Magnussen – “Where does this deal leave you – will Nico be your new team-mate or are you looking at other ventures?

Magnussen – “The aim is to stay on the same team and in Formula 1, that’s my target and I hope that’s whats going to happen. I’ll focus on racing and driving and see what happens.

Question to Bottas – “Valterri coming to you, what about your plans?

Bottas – “We have to wait a little bit longer to get things confirmed about what’s happening next year. I’ve had a great time with the team and feel like there could be something more to achieve with them so lets wait and see.

Question to Hamilton – “Coming to you Lewis, the reigning world-champion and three US Grand Prix winner – you’ve had a busy time pre-Austin with the show on Ellen Show and being featured in the new Call of Duty Game – what does that tell us about your ability as an F1 driver to reach out to a wider audience.

Hamilton – “Yeah, I’m very fortunate to have been on the show – I love being out here in the States and I love reaching a completely new audience. Call of Duty, I play that game every winter and when I got the call for the opportunity to be a part of it, I jumped at that chance. I haven’t told my friend who plays it yet but he will have read about it.

Question to Hamilton – “Back to the day job, 100 points available in the remaining races – you’re trailing by 33 points. Clearly you need some wins to get back into it – is Austin the ideal place to race next given your history here.

Hamilton – “Yeah Austin’s always been good hunting ground for me. I’ve been out here for a week already and I’m looking forward to it. It’s a fantastic track with a great design so yeah, I’m here and looking forward to the weekend.

Question to Vettel – “Sebastian it seems that Suzuka kind of summed up Ferrari’s season in many ways – the car was fast but for a variety of different reasons you weren’t able to compete that pace into a podium.

Vettel – “There’s always a chance to win – in Japan we had some progress but as you said, it’s a good summary of our season so far and it’s important to fight and give all we have for this race.

Question to Grosjean – “It’s your 100th Grand Prix this weekend, how appropriate – this is the Haas F1 team’s first home grand prix too.

Grosjean – “Yeah we arrived in Monday and we went to see the factory and also the Nascar factory – my 100th grand prix here  with the teams home race is a wonderful thing. If I’m in Q3 then that will be good – we have a new front wing which worked well in the last race and it’s always very difficult at a new track as we don’t have data from past races but we will do all we can.

More to come ahead of the US Grand Prix this weekend!
