McLaren OUT of 2020 Australian Grand Prix
Following the announcement of the 2020 Bahrain Grand Prix taking place “behind closed doors” and with so many sporting events being affected by the Coronavirus, it was only time until we had something else from Formula 1.
McLaren Withdraws From 2020 Australian Grand Prix
McLaren Racing has now confirmed that they will NOT be taking part in the 2020 Australian Grand Prix following positive tests of a team member for the virus.
McLaren: “The team member was tested and self-isolated as soon as they started to show symptoms and will now be treated by local healthcare authorities.”
Overall, the team has prepared for this eventuality and now has ongoing support for other staff members and employees who will enter a period of quarantine.
So, how will this year pan out for the team? I’m not entirely sure as they’ll now definitely be on the back foot by not participating.
Could the race be cancelled at last minute? Again, with the way things are progressing with Coronavirus, anything could happen.
One thing we do know, this year will be unlike any other….
