It’s race day and here’s all the latest for the United States Grand Prix live before and during the race.
United States Grand Prix – Driver Track Parade
Drivers are now on the track-parade, here’s what some of them have to say before the race.
Verstappen – ” First of all I hope it’s a good start and try to catch the Mercedes guys at the front and keep the tyres great too.”
Rosberg – “It’s an awesome race weekend here and I’m sure it’s going to be an exciting race. For sure everything is a learning experience and we can handle turn one and see from there. I’m very excited to be in the championship battle and I’m thinking of the race and winning.”
Raikkonen – “This is the result we got yesterday, we are lacking speed against the RedBull and the Mercedes but hopefully we will have a good race.”
Vettel – “We hope we can have a good race, get off the line well and we have a good history here in America. Looking forward to the race, I like the track and hopefully it will be a good race. We are starting further back but hopefully we can be on the podium.”
Ricciardo – “The plan is to get a good start, it would be great to get ahead of both the Mercedes but if I can catch the guy in front, that will be great too.”

Drivers are now making their way onto the grid ahead of the United States Grand Prix.
All the drivers are on the grid before the start of the race.
Formation Lap – United States Grand Prix Live
Lap 1
Hamilton leads the race with Ricciardo in second, followed by Rosberg, Raikkonen and Verstappen.
Vettel tries to go past Verstappen who blocks him off.
Lap 2
Hulkenberg suffering with a puncture.
Lap 3
Hamilton sets a fastest lap time – leading the race and getting out of DRS range from Ricciardo. Rosberg is within DRS reach of Ricciardo however.
Hulkenberg out of the race.
Lap 4
Hamilton sets another fastest lap of the race. Ricciardo ahead of Rosberg.
Lap 6
Verstappen sets a fastest lap time – still in front of Vettel.
Rosberg behind Ricciardo.
The incident between Hulkenberg and Bottas will be investigated.
Lap 7
Hamilton sets the fastest lap time – he’s still leading Ricciardo.
Lap 9
Ricciardo now comes into the pits. Hamilton sets another fastest lap time.
Raikkonen now into the pits too.
Hamilton still leads.
Lap 10
Verstappen now comes into the pits – it’s an early stop for him.
Ricciardo is now ahead of Alonso and up into 6th place after his pit stop.
Verstappen comes out onto the race track in 10th place.
Rosberg now pits – double stack for the two.
Lap 11
Hamilton stays out and doesn’t come into the pits.
Vettel up into second place.
Lap 12
Hamilton now comes into the pits – he’s on soft tyres.
Vettel leads the race – he still hasn’t come into the pits.
Hamilton on second followed by Ricciardo and Rosberg in 4th.
Lap 13
Verstappen now sets a fastest lap time.
Verstappen now makes his way past Raikkonen – the two are battling for places.
Lap 14
Verstappen sets another fastest lap time.
Vettel still leads the race however he has not come into the pits – yet.
Rosberg being told that the tyres he is on will ‘come back round’ later on in the race.
Vettel pits.
Lap 15
Hamilton leads the race, Ricciardo back in second followed by Rosberg.
Lap 17
Rosberg is now under pressure from Max Verstappen.
Gutierrez is back into the pits – he’s having a problem with his car after going off at a turn.
Lap 18
Gutierrez is out of the race.
Verstappen closing the gap to Rosberg.
Lap 20
Verstappen being told to look after his tyres, his response – “I’m not here to finish fourth”
He’s putting the pressure on Rosberg.
Lap 21
Hamilton still leading the race.
Button now making his way past Kvyat and is up into 10th place.
Verstappen drops back slightly after a little lockup.
It’s still Hamilton, Ricciardo, Rosberg and Verstappen as the top 4.
Lap 23
Vettel seems to be closing the gap to his team-mate Raikkonen who’s up in 5th place.
Verstappen has backed off slightly from Rosberg.
Lap 25
Raikkonen comes into the pits – he’s on the super soft tyre which won’t last until the end of the race. He rejoins the track in 6th place.
Hamilton leading the race.
Lap 26
Ricciardo comes into the pits and Rosberg now makes how way up into second place.
Hamilton leads the race – Verstappen up into 3rd place now.
Lap 27
Verstappen now comes into the pits. His mechanics weren’t ready – it was driver error.
He’s down in 7th place.
Lap 29
Vettel now comes into the pits.
Hamilton leads the race.
Lap 30
Verstappen has slowed right down – it looks like his car has a problem with him reporting – “there’s something hitting the engine, the faster I drive, the louder it gets.”
Lap 31
Verstappen was making his way round to the pit-lane however he’s now pulled up on the side.
Virtual Safety Car.
Mercedes now bringing Hamilton into the pits under the Virtual Safety Car.
Lap 32
Rosberg also comes into the pits – Hamilton back out in the lead.
Lap 33
Virtual Safety Car now ending.
Lap 34
Rosberg has been helped by the situation with Verstappen.
Ricciardo now being told – “Rosberg up ahead, let’s get him”
Hamilton still leading the race.
Lap 40
After his pit-stop, Raikkonen is out of the race.
Ferrari are now under investigation for a car being released in an unsafe condition.
Lap 42
Hamilton leading the race – his teammate is behind in 2nd place.
Ricciardo is right behind Rosberg – they’re keeping the pace steady and looking after their tyres.
Lap 43
Rosberg locks up.
Lap 44
Ricciardo radioing his team and asking for times of Rosberg to catch up. He’s feeling confident on his tyres.
Lap 47
Ricciardo is gaining slightly on Rosberg however he’s not quite close enough – yet.
There’s a battle between Sainz, Massa and Alonso – Alonso is gaining on Massa.
Lap 49
The gap between Rosberg and Ricciardo has now increased.
Lap 50
Hamilton leading the race – there’s another 7 laps left to go.
Rosberg is widening the gap between himself and Ricciardo.
Lap 52
5 Laps remaining, Hamilton still leads the United States Grand Prix with Rosberg in 2nd. Ricciardo in 3rd place.
The battle between Sainz, Massa and Alonso is still going. Alonso get’s the McLaren past – he pushed Massa right off-track.
Lap 53
The incident between Massa and Alonso will be investigated after the race.
Alonso took the opportunity to overtake Massa, he did push Massa off-track however Massa also turned in and there was contact between the two.
Lap 55
2 laps remaining for the United States Grand Prix Live
Hamilton leading the race – Rosberg right behind in 2nd place.
Ricciardo in 3rd followed by ex-teammate, Vettel in 4th.
Massa has a front left puncture after the incident with Alonso.
Lap 56
Final Lap – Hamilton leading the race.
Alonso gets past Sainz and is up into 5th place.
Hamilton WINS The United States Grand Prix!
Rosberg in second.
Ricciardo in third.
