The pit lane is now OPEN with cars making their way to the grid for the Formula 1 Spanish Grand Prix 2016….
The drivers are all in their cars and ready for the formation / warm-up lap ahead of the Formula 1 Spanish Grand Prix at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya!
Lights Out
Lap 1
Hamilton and Rosberg come together, crash and they are BOTH OUT of the race!
Safety car now on the track until both cars have been cleared…
Lap 4
Race is back ON with the Red Bull’s now leading the race, Ricciardo followed Verstappen then Sainz and the two Ferrari’s.
Lap 8
Ricciardo still leads the race, Vettel has just overtaken Sainz making his way into 3rd place…
Lap 10
Raikkonen makes his way past Sainz and is now up into fourth place behind his team-mate Vettel in third with Verstappen in second and Ricciardo still leading the race.
Lap 11
Ricciardo now coming into the pits for change of tyres – he’s back out on the race track….Alonso also back on the track on medium tyres…
Lap 14
Alonso chasing down team-mate Button in 10th place…
Lap 15
Vettel now comes into the pits for a tyre change, going onto the Medium tyres and now joins track in third place with the two Red Bull’s leading the race again.
Lap 18
Alonso in 9th with Massa behind him closing the gap, the same is happening over 2nd place with Vettel closing the gap to Verstappen….
Lap 19
Both Ferrari’s are now quicker than both Red Bull’s in front of them – looks like a good race ahead….
Lap 22
Hulkenberg has a problem with flames coming out of his car, stopping near a fire marshal and is now safely out of the car….
Lap 28
Ricciardo back into the pits for another tyre-change, onto the soft tyres…. now back onto the track….
Lap 30
Ferrari driver, Vettel is now back into the pits and changing his tyres – he’s back onto the track on soft tyres too…
Verstappen leads the race and is now the youngest driver to lead a Formula 1 lap….
Lap 32
Vettel setting fastest laps of the race on the new soft tyre that he’s on….
Lap 36
Raikkonen now pits along with Verstappen both on the medium tyre compared to their team-mates who are both on the soft compound tyres….
Vettel closing the gap to Ricciardo who’s the current race leader…
Lap 37
Vettel comes into the pits – he’s now back out onto the track….

Vettel setting fastest laps on the new tyres he’s on – closing the gap to Ricciardo who’s stuck behind palmer….
Lap 42
Vettel closing the gap to Verstappen in second place – Vettel on newer tyres after Ferrari say it was a ‘tactical move’ to pit Vettel early.
Lap 43
Ricciardo comes into the pits as he’s struggling on the tyres he’s on – he had a bad few laps!
Ricciardo goes onto the medium tyres…… back on track….
Lap 45
Raikkonen closing the gap to Verstappen, Vettel closing the gap to Raikkonen and Verstappen due to new tyres.
Ricciardo in fourth place after coming into the pits – it’s 2 Ferrari’s against 1 RedBull currently leading the race….
Lap 47
Fernando Alonso is out of the Spanish Grand Prix with a problem on his car….. such a shame….
Lap 49
Raikkonen is now closing the gap to Verstappen who’s still leading the race – Ricciardo looks like he’s coming back for all the top 3 as he’s on a fresher set of tyres….
Lap 50
Ricciardo closing the gap to Vettel – it’s still a great battle for the top 4….
Lap 52
The gap is closing between the front two – Raikkonen is right on the back of Verstappen’s Red Bull car…..
Lap 54
Ricciardo is just 1 second behind Vettel – closing the gap, if Ricciardo can get past…. can he still win the race??
Lap 56
Raikkonen is still closing the gap and very nearly managed to get past race-leader Verstappen whilst Ricciardo is closing the gap to Vettel with Kvyat behind ex-team-mate Ricciardo, also closing the gap….
Lap 59
What a move – Ricciardo and Vettel almost come together but both managed to keep their cars fine and are both back on track…
Lap 63
Vettel gets past Guittierez who goes onto the racing line and holds up Ricciardo – Verstappen still leading the race from Raikkonen…..
Lap 65
Ricciardo suffers a puncture and is now making his way to the pits – slowly….
Lap 66
Max Verstappen wins the Spanish Grand Prix and is the youngest driver EVER to win a Formula 1 grand prix.
