Italian Grand Prix Qualifying – Hamilton
Hamilton – “Obviously I’m very happy today, I was only made aware of the record as we came to this weekend here in Monza.”
“I feel incredibly proud and honoured to be amongst these drivers, the records they’ve set – I’m very proud of that.”
“Today I had a very strong feeling coming into the session, I felt on-point and that last lap felt incredible. Race by race, I always say and will continue to praise the team and what they do – I’m very blessed.”
Italian Grand Prix Qualifying – Rosberg
Rosberg – “I think the best explanation as to why there was a gap was that he (Hamilton) just put in good laps – I had a good weekend too but I wasn’t quick enough, that’s it.”
Italian Grand Prix Qualifying – Vettel
Vettel – “First of all, I wasn’t that happy with the first shot in Q3, I lost the rhythm a little bit and ended up losing time on the last corner too.”
“Losing time in the beginning and the end isn’t great and I wasn’t quick on the throttle either.”
“Overall, I’m very happy for us as a team, to lock out the second row but not entirely happy with the gap from us to them (Mercedes) – they’ve been in their own world.”
“Every out lap you do, all the fans stand and wave – I love the support and a big thanks to everyone around the track, hopefully we will be able to give them something back tomorrow.”
Italian Grand Prix Qualifying – Hamilton
Hamilton – “I didn’t damage the tyres, I just had a little lock-up which caused a flat spot. That’s minimal, you can’t feel it so I don’t think it will be a problem for the race tomorrow.”
