Paddy Lowe In Demand

It was expected that Paddy Lowe would be entering contract negotiations once the 2016 Formula 1 season ended and in coming weeks, the executive director will be holding talks with his current team, Mercedes, about a contract extension.

Paddy Lowe is in demand and there are other offers out there for him with many reports linking him to Ferrari – especially after James Allison’s departure earlier this year.

Ferrari isn’t the only team to be interested in Paddy Lowe – Williams and Renault are both potential teams to move to, they both have big budgets, big ambitions and are planing on making their cars dominant at the front row of the grid.

Williams is a team that has been working on the research and development for the past couple of years and even though 2016 wasn’t their strongest year – they’re aiming high for the 2017 season with all the new regulations and features.

If Paddy Lowe were to switch to Williams, he would be returning to a team that he started his F1 career with – spending 6 years with the team after being employed by them in 1987.

One team which has completely deniedĀ reports surrounding contract talks is McLaren who recently said the following – “We have absolutely no plans to re-hire Paddy. We are completely satisfied with our current senior engineering management team.

Paddy Lowe worked with McLaren in 1993 after moving from Williams.
