Formula 1: New Qualifying Format Delayed
If you haven’t heard on the latest “formula 1 gossip” there’s a new qualifying format which has been given the ‘go-ahead’ however it’s not something that well be seeing until the fifth race of the Formula 1 2016 Season!
Due to technical side, timing software and on-screen graphics, the process and management is still being ‘developed’ with Bernie Ecclestone saying “You have to explain it to the public properly, it’s not just a case of he was the last guy, bye-bye.” so even though it’s been given the go-ahead, we won’t be seeing this till the fifth race of the season.
New Qualifying Format 2016 – What is it?
So, what is the new qualifying format that we’re talking about?
The governing body, FIA, announced on Wednesday that the new “qualifying system” has been agreed and it would work by the slowest car being eliminated every 90 seconds, still keeping the three qualifying sessions in place, like we’re used to seeing.
There has also been other talks about changes in the race format too but we’ll have more on that very soon! 🙂
