Sauber Preview – Canadian Grand Prix and European Grand Prix

Sauber Preview – Canadian Grand Prix and European Grand Prix – The summer season has officially started so let’s see what the Sauber drivers are saying about the Canadian and European Grand Prix in the Formula 1 Season.

I can’t believe how quickly time is going by, it only feels like yesterday that I was sat waiting for the season to start and now we’re already in the summer season with three back-to-back races in the Formula 1 Season.

Let’s take a look and see what the Sauber drivers have to say ahead of the Canadian and European Grand Prix.

Marcus Ericsson – Sauber F1 Team

I am looking forward to the upcoming Grand Prix Weekend. Starting with the Canadian Grand Prix in Montreal, I like the track a lot as feel as the atmosphere around it.

It’s a great event and directly following that race we have the European Grand Prix in Azerbaijan which is good for Formula 1 to have new race tracks and host new countries on the calendar.”

I don’t know much about Baku but I like travelling and getting to know new place. The circuit itself is an unknown for all of us. The track walk before kicking off the weekend will, therefore, be important for us and I’m looking forward to racing in Baku.”

I hope many fans will cheer for us during the race weekend too.”

Felipe Nasr – Sauber F1 Team

Some busy times are lying ahead of us. After the Canadian Grand Prix we go directly to Baku for the European Grand Prix.”

I am always looking forward to getting to know new race circuits as well as new place. The track length is about six kilometres, the Baku City Circuit is the second longest on the F1 race calendar.”

Form what I’ve heard, it is a nice venture right in the city centre of Baku and I hope we will see many F1 fans there supporting us during the Grand Prix Weekend.”

Here are some facts about the track – Circuit Gilles-Villeneuve

The Circuit Gilles-Villeneuve on the Notre-Dame island is considered to b a combination of both street and permanent track.

With long straights, five sections and corners that have changes in direction including one hairpin are the main characteristics of this circuit.

Speed, traction and braking stability are beneficial and the layout of the circuit is the most demanding on the whole F1 calendar in terms of brakes.

So, there we have a little preview of what the Sauber Drivers think of the races ahead of them – I think this is something to really look forward to, especially with the new track, Baku (City Circuit)

More to come soon!
