It was another strong weekend for the Red Bull Racing team with Sergio Perez taking the lead in the Azerbaijan Grand Prix.
Closely followed by his team-mate, Max Verstappen and Charles Leclerc – who was feeling the pressure from Fernando Alonso, especially in the late stages of the race.
Whilst a lot of us may have expected more in terms of battles and Safety Car appearances, we did a defining moment in the race with Perez being called into the pits under the Safety Car and then taking the lead – maintaining his tyres and position.
For Max Verstappen, there were struggles throughout but a good one-two result for the team.
Charles Leclerc in third also maintained his tyres and position – followed by the Aston Martin of Fernando Alonso.
Fernando Alonso worked his way through to P4, a strong race for the Aston Martin driver who’s had a great season so far!
Carlos Sainz also felt the pressure from the Mercedes of Lewis Hamilton.
With Hamilton asking the team for a boost throughout the race to help get past Sainz. A good race for them (not brilliant) as they also picked up points.
His team-mate, George Russell also picked up minor points for the team after his early pit – a good result for the team as both drivers picked up points.
McLaren’s Lando Norris had a decent race, bringing in points for the team as he battled with Nico Hulkenberg.
Hulkenberg in the meantime made his way through from the pit lane, earning points and staying in position for most of the race.
Not a strong race for the them with the team hoping for a Safety Car (for them to pit again) which never happened.
