Could Alonso Replace Rosberg at Mercedes – Toto Wolff thinks he would be a good replacement…
We normally have contract gossip later on in the year, around the summer-break period however things have started earlier and with the Hamilton / Rosberg Crash – we’re hearing more rumours than ever!
No driver will give up or simply walk away from a winning team however there have been many claims and reports suggesting that Nico Rosberg has started talks with Ferrari.
Raikkonen is in his final year of his contract with Ferrari but he has been performing better than his team-mate, Vettel….. could he simply retire or does he still have the passion and determination for more wins!?
This is despite all the reports that Mercedes had said they would be happy to renew contracts with Rosberg, earlier, however it was all before that crash – did it change anything within the team?
We all know that team bosses don’t just say things by ‘accident’ and to add another curveball to the rumours, Mercedes’ Toto Wolff has been quoted as saying “If Rosberg does not want to renew contracts, we will consider other options like Fernando. Fernando is one of the best drivers in history and I like his character”
Is this the teams way of suggesting that they have had enough of their two drivers not being able to handle a situation in a professional manner or is it simply rumours flying about….
