Red Bull Showcase New Canopy At Practice One Russian GP

Red Bull Showcase New Canopy At Practice One Russian GP – The team showcased the new canopy design during one installation lap during practice one at the Russian Grand Prix.

Red Bull driver Daniel Ricciardo completed an installation lap during Practice 1 at the Russian Grand Prix with the ‘aeroscreen‘ canopy concept.

The concept is an alternative against the ‘halo‘ screen which Ferrari debuted in pre-season testing – both of which could be introduced to Formula 1 as soon as 2017 for the new safety regulations.

After one lap, Ricciardo returned to the pits to remove the safety device and carry on with his run for practices at the Sochi Circuit ahead of the Russian Grand Prix this weekend.

Reaction after practices for the ‘aeroscreen‘ concept wasn’t too popular with many people including Paddy Lowe (Executive Director, Technical) for the Mercedes team branding it as ‘ugly‘ however it’s a ‘good concept to work with‘.

Let’s see what the rest of the teams will come up with!!
