Singapore Grand Prix Live – Track Parade
As the sun starts to set in Singapore, the drivers are now on the track for the track parade, see some of their interviews below.

Hamilton – “I don’t know how I’m going to win the race, all I know is that I’m going to do what I’ve done since my karting days, I’ll push and do the best I can.”
Vettel – “It’s not the easiest track but I will do my best to overtake on the straights.”
Raikkonen – “Obviously the pit stops can help, we can only do our fastest race and hopefully all the things go good for us. There might be safety cars but we go from there and see what happens.”
Palmer – “I love the place, there’s a big crowd out there which is nice, the sun is setting and it’s a completely different race to the others. it’s easy to make a mistake and we’re hoping for a safety car to move with the strategy.”
Pit Lane Now Open
The drivers are all stopping and starting their cars in the pit-lane before making their way onto the track.
Did you know? – The Safety Car has featured in every single Singapore Grand Prix race.
Ricciardo – “We just did one lap on the grid but everything feels like it’s working ok. We know more or less where we are with the set up.“
Ecclestone – “Pleasant, I like the competition and everything looks good for the race.“
Driver training for Singapore – Drivers will either workout in a Sauna or wear a lot of layers during their workout to get their bodies ready for the heat during the race. It’s the longest race of the year and the conditions are the most challenging which a driver will face followed by the Malaysian Grand Prix.

Lap 1
Rosberg has a great start, Hulkenberg got hit by Carlos Sainz and the safety car has now been deployed.
Verstappen had a poor start, lots of wheel-spin and lost a lot of places.
Bottas suffering with a puncture, Button suffering with front wing damage – cars coming into the pits.
Lap 2
(Safety Car)
Bottas and Vettel nearly come together in the pits – Bottas drops back and is behind Vettel.
Lap 3
Hamilton right behind Ricciardo, Raikkonen in fourth.
2 laps to go until DRS can be used.
Alonso behind Raikkonen in 5th place.
Lap 5
Team to Sainz – “We can see some damage on your car.”
Raikkonen is now closing the gap to Hamilton.
Verstappen now closing the gap to Sainz.
Vettel slowly making his way through the grid – he’s now up into 16th place.
Lap 6
Team to Verstappen – “Max, Carlos has been shown the black and orange flag due to damage on his car so he’s coming into the pits.“
Lap 8
Sainz now comes into the pits.
Team to Rosberg – “We do need that brake management.“
Lap 9
Team to Rosberg – “This is serious, we do need that brake management Nico.“
Since being told about brake management the first time, he’s started to push the car further.
Lap 10
Team to Hamilton – “You really need to get on top of these front brakes.“
Both Mercedes drivers are now being warned.
Lap 12
Team to Raikkonen – “Mercedes are starting to panic, lets get at them.“
Lap 13
Vettel up into 13th place, he’s slowly making his way through the grid.
Lap 14
Verstappen comes into the pits.
He’s on the super-soft tyres.
Verstappen now behind Ocon – he makes his way past the Manor driver.
Lap 15
Hamilton – “Can you keep me up to date please, I have no idea what’s going on.“
Alonso now comes into the pits.
Vettel up into 10th place.
Lap 16
Ricciardo comes into the pits followed by Lewis Hamilton – it should have been Rosberg first however they’re now switching the strategy.
Rosberg comes into the pits. Soft compound tyres, his pit-stop was too long.
Lap 17
Raikkonen now leads the race – he hasn’t come into the pits yet but could put in some fast lap times if Ferrari can stay out longer.
Lap 18
Kimi has been asking to come into the pits for a few laps now, he’s now in the pits and comes out in 4th place.
Lap 19
Battle between Kvyat and Verstappen – pushing Verstappen right to the wall.
Verstappen still behind Kvyat.
The two are battling away.
Verstappen – “Come on man.“
Lap 21
Team to Kvyat – “Alonso is our race, Alonso is our race.“
Lap 22
Team to Massa – “Kvyat and Verstappen fighting ahead.“
Verstappen still behind Kvyat.
Vettel up into 6th place.
Lap 25
Hamilton is now getting concerned with his pace and the brakes – Raikkonen closing the gap,
Vettel now pits. Ultra-Soft tyres for him – they’re brand new tyres and he will be re-joining the track in 13th place.
Lap 26
DRS for Raikkonen.
Perez now pits – he comes out behind Vettel. Vettel is up into 12th place.
Lap 27
Raikkonen right behind Hamilton.
Lap 28
Vettel up into 10th place and gets past Carlos Sainz.
Team to Vettel – “Well done Seb, keep your head down.“
Button now pits – soft tyres for him.
Lap 29
Hamilton – “Are any of the other drivers having the same problem?“
Team to Hamilton – “Rosberg is suffering with the same issue.“
Lap 30
Team to Raikkonen – “We are still getting messages about Hamilton and his brake problem.“
Lap 31
Perez – “I don’t think we can use these tyres till the end, no way.“
Team to Perez – “OK, use all you can to overtake.“
Verstappen now makes his way past Perez and is up into 10th place.
Lap 32
Team to Rosberg – “Remember to drink and keep up with the brake management.“
Drivers tell their engineers to keep reminding them to drink throughout the race to stay hydrated for the challenging conditions.
Lap 33
Ricciardo pits, soft tyres for the Red Bull driver.
Raikkonen now up into 3rd place. Ricciardo re-joins in 4th place.
Verstappen now closing the gap to Gutierrez.
Hamilton fighting off Raikkonen who makes his way past and is up into 2nd place.
Contact between the two drivers.
Lap 34
Rosberg now pits.
Raikkonen now pits.
Hamilton now leads the race.

Hamilton now pits.

Bottas is now coming in to the pits to retire from the Singapore Grand Prix – not the best race for him and in the last couple of laps he’s been having an issue with his seat-belts with the engineers sorting it out during the pit-stop.
Bottas Retires.
Lap 38
Team to Hamilton – “So Lewis, there might be an opportunity for the end of the race, use all your power unit.“
Lap 39
Team to Hamilton – “Ok, we’re switching to plan B – pull Raikkonen in.“

Rosberg – “Don’t tell me anything!” In reply to the team who was updating him with times and positions for the drivers behind.
Lap 43
Vettel now pits.
Rejoins the track in 6th place.
Lap 44
Team to Raikkonen – “You are faster than Ricciardo ahead.“
Lap 45
Hamilton 2 seconds behind Raikkonen – Vettel closing the gap to Verstappen in 5th place.
Raikkonen closing the gap to Ricciardo in 2nd place.
Button retires from the Singapore Grand Prix.

Vettel on the ultra-soft tyres.
Hamilton stays ahead of Raikkonen – he’s in 3rd place, Raikkonen in 4th place.

Ricciardo now pits.
Rosberg still leads the race.
Team to Rosberg – “Push hard now Nico, Strat 5 and overtake – push hard now.“
The pressure is on Rosberg now.

The team are waiting for Rosberg in the pits – he stays out!
Verstappen behind Kvyat – could be another battle between the two.
Verstappen makes his way past.
Lap 50
Ricciardo is now pushing – he’s setting times faster than Rosberg.

Team to Ricciardo – “There’s no way Rosberg is pitting now, he’ll come out behind Raikkonen.“
Team to Ricciardo – “At the current pace you’ll catch him with 4 laps to go.”
He’s closing the gap.

Verstappen now closing the gap to Alonso who’s up in 6th place.
Rosberg – “How much more can I take out of the brakes till the end of the race?“
Team to Rosberg – “We’ll let you know, Nico, we’ll let you know.“
Team to Rosberg – “We’ll give you more at the end Nico, more at the end.“
Alonso still in front of Verstappen.
Verstappen makes his way past the McLaren driver.
Lap 57
5 laps now remaining.
Raikkonen in 4th place, Hamilton in 3rd place.
Ricciardo in 2nd place and Rosberg leading the race – Ricciardo is still closing the gap.
Vettel is up into 5th place – well done to him for making his way from the back of the grid.

Team to Rosberg – “Keep your head down Nico.”

Team to Rosberg – “We have a slow bunch of back markers in front of you.“

Rosberg wins the Singapore Grand Prix.
Ricciardo a close second, followed by Hamilton in third.

Rosberg – “I’m just happy with the win today, thank you to everyone who came today and see you in the race soon.”
Ricciardo – “We’ve come very close this year and on numerous occasions. We tried different things and this feels great – every year I see more and more Australian flags so thank you very much.”
Hamilton – “Big congratulations to Nico, he deserved the win – it was tough today as it always is here in Singapore. I was struggling with my brakes and looking at different ways to get the back under control. I’ve got a lot of support out here and I want to say thanks to everyone.”
