Let’s take a a look at what the Red Bull Racing boys had to say after their practice session at the Red Bull Ring in Austria ahead of the Austrian Grand Prix Qualifying Session.
Ricciardo, the birthday boy, was at the circuit till late, going through all the details and information gathered during the day so no partying for him!
All the details from the two drivers below…

Daniel Ricciardo – Red Bull Racing
1st Practice – 1:08.528 – Position 5 – 35 laps
2nd Practice – 1:08.649 – Position 5 – 30 laps
“I think we had a pretty good day today, we didn’t fight the car too much. This morning we got up to speed quickly which is important and this afternoon was crazy.“
“The level of rain was really high during the session but it was actually good to experience two different conditions. The rain was local and more so during Turn 8 and Turn 9 so that part of the track was very tricky.“
“It’s been a track that we struggled with in the past but I feel pretty comfortable from lap one so think we are more or less there. We are pretty close to where we need to be so that’s a good start. If it rains tomorrow, everything is possible so it’s going to be interesting.“
Red Bull Racing Austrian Practice Session – Max Verstappen
Max Verstappen – Red Bull Racing
1st Practice – 1:08.962 – Position 8 – 21 Laps
2nd Practice – 1:08.761 – Position 7 – 20 Laps
“The first session today was shorter than I would have liked so we lost a bit of time there and also at the beginning of the second session too.“
“The car wasn’t quite ready due to the damage we suffered in the first session so that put us on the back foot. We would have liked to run more but I’m pretty happy heading into Saturday with the laps I did.”
“The kerbs are pretty high here and can cause damage, as we saw, but it’s up to us to stay off them and respect the track limits.“
“I hope it rains because our car is really good in the wet so let’s see what happens in qualifying.“

There’s lots more coming soon ahead of the Austrian Grand Prix – make sure you check back for the Qualifying updates and reactions too!
