Getting ready for the European Grand Prix at the Baku City Circuit – it’s going to be a good one!
Drivers are now leaving the pits and making their way to the grid…
The drivers have now begun their formation lap at the European Grand Prix.

Lap 1
Manor and Sauber come together – Rosberg leads the race with Ricciardo closely behind… Hamilton in 10th place.
Drivers are staying sensible overall.

Lap 2
Verstappen is making his way through the pack gaining two places and in from of ex-team mate Kvyat.
Button gained four places.
Lap 3
DRS has now been enabled – we’ll be seeing more overtakes now…
Lap 4
Vettel goes wide at Turn 1 – Hamilton is making his way through the grid and gaining places.
Raikkonen is now under pressure from Sergio Perez, from 7th place he’s now up into fifth.
Bottas makes his way past Verstappen, up into 7th place.
Hamilton makes his way past Verstappen.
Lap 5
Vettel now up into second place.
Lap 7
Kvyat has retired from the race…
Lap 8
Rosberg still leads the race…
Lap 9
Vettel being told to box (pits) his reply – “Are you sure about this…. pace looks good.”
Ferrari brings Raikkonen into the pits instead and leave Vettel out a little bit longer…
Lap 10
Ricciardo makes his way past Grosjean and Wehrlein and is now up into 7th place.
Lap 11
Hamilton makes his way past Bottas, Raikkonen battling with Wehlerin and moves unto 8th place after his pit-stop.
Hamilton now into 4th place behind Perez.
Lap 12
Hamilton looking strong and gaining on Perez who’s in third, Vettel still hasn’t come into the pits and is in second place with Rosberg comfortably in the lead.
Lap 14
Raikkonen receives a 5 second penalty for crossing the pit-lane line… not a fair penalty as it was a simple mistake…
Lap 15
Raikkonen now gaining on Hulkenberg for 7th place
Lap 16
An image from earlier with the plastic bag which was on the Ferrari – could have been a serious problem.
Raikkonen makes his way past Hulkenberg and is now up into 7th place, looks like he will add the 5 second penalty onto his time after the race…
Lap 18
Hamilton sets a fastest lap time – he’s making his way through the grid and it looks like he’s pushing his car to the limits…
Raikkonen is now up into 5th place, behind Ricciardo and is gaining…
Lap 22
Race leader, Rosberg comes into the pits…
Ricciardo leads, Perez and Hamilton – all of which are gaining…. Perez makes his way past Ricciardo, as does Hamilton.
Lap 23
Ferrai looking strong with Raikkonen getting the ‘go ahead’ from his race engineer – he’s now up into second place.
Lap 24
The McLaren boys are both pushing – Alonso up into 9th place.
Team-mate Button is now in 11th place.
Alonso now pits…
Lap 25
Hulkenberg now up into 8th place with Sainz in 9th place. Hulkenberg making his way through the grid.
Vettel now in 3rd place with team-mate Raikkonen in front, second place.
Rosberg still leads the race.
Lap 28
Vettel gaining on Raikkonen……
Overtaking his team-mate, Vettel is now up into second place….
Lap 29
Button gets past Sainz (without DRS) and is now in 15th place.
Lap 30
Vettel sets a fastest lap of the race – he’s making his way round the track, gaining on Rosberg who’s’ comfortably in the lead.
Lap 32
Hamilton losing time as he’s in a ‘wrong mode’ however due to the technical ban – his race team cannot tell him what to switch to…
Sainz has gone off-track and is out of the race…
Lap 37
Hamilton in 5th place behind Perez, still struggling with his settings.
Vettel still in second place, behind Rosberg – gaining and making his way round the track.
Raikkonen is in third place – still hasn’t come into the pits for his penalty.
Lap 38
Button makes his way past Alonso up into 12th place – the drivers respect one another and that was a clean overtake.
Lap 41
Wehrlein out of the race – reporting he ‘doesn’t have any brakes’ – out of the race.
Lap 42
Alonso makes his way past Grosjean and Grosjean re-took his place overtaking with DRS.
Alonso is pushing his car as much as he can – Grosjean still in front of him…
Lap 43
Hamilton is now lapping people – he’s done a fastest first sector so has he clear the ‘issue’ he was suffering with for a few laps?
He’s just set the fastest lap time….
Alonso has been told to box – suffering with a problem, he’ll be retiring from the race.
Lap 44
Hamilton has fixed the issue however there’s reports that the problem has come back and he’s losing power – again…
Lap 48
Ricciardo gets past Hulkenberg and is up into 7th place.
Rosberg sets a fastest lap if the race
Lap 49
Perez gaining on Jimi Raikkonen who seems to be having a little problem….race engineers’ cannot tell their drivers what to do due to the technical ban.
Lap 50
2 laps remaining – Rosberg still leads the race with Vettel in second place.
Lap 51
Nico Rosberg wins the European Grand Prix at the Baku City Circuit.
Vettel in second place with Sergio Perez in third who got past Kimi Raikkonen.
Hamilton finishes in fifth place despite the issues he was going through….
