What Happened To Fernando Alonso In FP2 – Brazil Grand Prix Practices
I’m sure most of you, if not all, will remember last year – the Spaniard went viral on social media after his race ended at the Interlagos Circuit.
Pictured relaxing in a deckchair – trackside. It’s one of the most iconic images from the 2015 season.

Fast forward to a year later and Fernando Alonso is causing a storm – again!
This time however, it’s not for his driving skills but for his camera skills – yes, really….
Suffering with an issue on his car (cooling – the team saw a problem with the ERS water pressure data) he had to stop on track which ended his second practice session.
Keeping himself (and the world) entertained, the two-time world champion stood at the side of the track watching cars drive by, he played football – with a stone and then, he turned into a cameraman. Operating the FOM feed camera down at Turn 3.
Complete with bright yellow/green headphones, Alonso had a go at operating the camera whilst being guided by the director but as you’ll be able to see in the video below (currently removed and will be updated shortly) – he didn’t do very well…..
Speaking to the media afterwards he said – “Through the headset they told me that they would be broadcasting Sergio Perez, I tried to find him but instead I found the sky and then I found the asphalt! Not Perez!“
In a happy mood, the driver was all smiles when ‘working’ the camera and it’s another social media hit!
More to follow!
