Nico Rosberg Signs Mercedes Contract
After months of speculation and a question-mark hanging over the drivers’ seat at Mercedes, it has now been confirmed that Nico Rosberg signs Mercedes contract which will last until the end of 2018.
This now means that Nico Rosberg and Lewis Hamilton will continue to be team-mates for another 2 seasons, until the end of 2018, and could mean that we’ll now be seeing a high rise in tension and pressure.
Seeing as they’re now both ‘secured’ in their roles within the team – each driver could start pushing one another more so. We saw that in the last couple of races Rosberg did back down, allowing his team-mate to get ahead in the races but now, armed with a new contract – things could change yet again.
Hamilton’s current contact also ends at the end of 2018 – he re-signed with the team last year.

Here’s what team-boss Toto Wolff had to say – “We are very happy, obviously. We had a couple of weeks of discussions but it was always clear we wanted to continue. Nico is the right deal for us and having made the signature is what matters for us. Onwards and upwards.”
Followed by a few words from Rosberg – “It’s a special moment for me of course, this moment, signing that piece of paper. I look forward to the future. I’m just looking forward to the future.”
