Monaco Grand Prix 2016 – Qualifying Report from RedBull Racing – Here’s the driver & team reactions after the Monaco Grand Prix Qualifying.
Monaco Grand Prix – Qualifying – RedBull Racing
Daniel Ricciardo – Pole Position
“I’m happy! I put it together when I need to! Qualifying just built up and I found the rhythm and then that first run in Q3 was the one I needed to do.”
“Hopefully tomorrow we can covert it to the win, that’s the plan. It’s my first pole for the team too and it’s a very good feeling.“
“Coming into this weekend, I believed I could be here today and it;s nice to match the belief. The lap felt good and this place is a great place to get it”
“It was a pretty good lap on the supersofts so we will start the race on those tomorrow which should give us a bit more option in the race, when to pit.”
“Sitting here now, it looks good and we’ll see tomorrow what happens here but today, the job was pole and I’ve done that, I’ve done what I can so far.”
Max Verstappen – P 21
“Of course it’s not the way you want to start for tomorrow. I turned a bit too early, clipped the inside wall, broke the inside suspension and then I couldn’t turn anymore.”
“These things unfortunately happen and you have to learn from it and continue. The car is great and we just have to find a way to get past the people in front. It will depend a lot on the strategy and what other people do too and of course the weather so hopefully we will have more luck tomorrow.“
Christian Horner
“Fantastic and thrilling to secure our first pole since 2013 and especially delighted for Daniel as it’s his maiden pole today!”
“Daniel drove a sensational lap and the team perfectly executed the strategy we set in briefing this morning. It sets up nicely for the Grand Prix tomorrow and we hope we can capitalise on the performance in qualifying”
“Max had a tough day. He just clipped the barrier on his entry into the chicane and it ended the session for him and it’s unfortunate but it demonstrates the margins on the tight streets of Monte Carlo”
Good luck tomorrow RedBull and thank you for the interviews and reactions from the Monaco Grand Prix Qualifying Session – there’s plenty more to come over the weekend from Monaco!
