Brief Driver Reaction

Ricciardo – “It was pretty terrible balance, I was slower and it was a handful. I didn’t expect a perfect car but I thought qualifying would be better, not a great race car but fourth is great.

It’s tricky out there and I wasn’t entirely happy with the balance. Hopefully we can get amongst the Mercedes and hopefully we can make things work for us. I’m OK for the race but I didn’t understand with the balance, if I’m unhappy – I wonder what Ferrari are like……

Top 3 Drivers – Reaction

Hamilton – “As always it’s a tough battle especially when you try to get a good lap. With these tyres sometimes it’s the first lap and sometimes it’s the last lap.”

“Last year we were sliding everywhere, this year it feels a lot more like a race track.”

Rosberg – “Lewis’ lap was a brilliant lap, not mine – I’m relatively pleased with that and I’m happy I’m now on front row.”

“It just took a bit longer to find the tyre temperate this weekend and we got there in the end so that’s OK.”

Verstappen – “I mean you have to be realistic when other guys are on different tyres. I’ve been feeling good with the car all weekend – it’s just a shame that in Q3 we couldn’t get the lap together.”

“I think we could have had P2.”

Hamilton – “There is no tactic for tomorrow, I turned out to do the job and I’m going to do what I did last weekend here, I’m looking forward to the race and looking forward to getting out on track.”
