Mexican Grand Prix Live – Track Parade
F1 drivers are now out on the track parade before the Mexican Grand Prix, interacting with the fans and speaking to the media.
Palmer – “Making sure everything is OK, we don’t want to have a nasty surprise before the race. We should be around 13th, 14th or 15th – perhaps someone can have a mishap and we can take the opportunity to see what we can do.“
Raikkonen – “Hopefully today it will be a good race – it won’t be like yesterday however we had good speed. It was tricky conditions to make the tyres work.“
Rosberg – “It was a great qualifying session, I was going for pole but Lewis got it there. I’m focusing on the race and I’ll be happy with the win.“
Massa – “It’s a great honour to be here in Mexico, I really hope I can get some positions in the grid and have a good race.“
Perez – “The passion and the support we have is what makes the difference and that’s going to make a difference here today.“
Hamilton – “This is the greatest place, the weather is great and the fans love having the sport here – this is unbelievable. I think the Red Bull’s will be quick, it’s going to be a tough race today and it should be a close race.“
News – Romain Grosjean won’t be starting from the grid – he will be starting from the pit lane.
Verstappen – “The engineers were just checking everything over the car to make sure it’s all ok. I got caught out in Austin and I’ll try to have a good start for the race. I’m here to win races so I will do the best I can, if I see a gap – I’ll go for it.“
Pit Lane – Mexican Grand Prix LIVE
The Pit Lane is now open with cars making their way onto the grid, many drivers are stopping at the end of the pit-lane to practice their starts.
Button – “It’s always good to have a laugh with your team-mate. We have to be careful where we are but hopefully it’s going to be a good race.“

Lap 1
HAmilton has a good start but goes off-track. There is some contact between Rosberg and Verstappen.

Vettel reporting that he has a puncture.

Safety Car
Red Bull of Daniel Ricciardo comes into the pits.
Many of the cars coming into pits.
Ericsson into the pits after coming into contact with Wehrlein.
Lap 3
Safety Car in this lap.
Hamilton – “I could feel a vibration.“
Team to Hamilton – “We’re not concerned with it Lewis, it depends if you can live with it.”
Lap 4
Safety Car OUT of this lap – the race has resumed.
Sainz is reporting that he has a gearbox issue.
Lap 5
Bottas sets a fastest lap time.
Verstappen closing the gap to Rosberg and Hulkenberg closing the gap to Verstappen.
Ricciardo up into 15th place after his early pit stop.
Lap 6
DRS Enabled.
Lewis Hamilton now sets a fastest lap time of 1:23.045
Rosberg and Verstappen are under investigation following the incident on the first corner.
Lap 8
No further action following the incident between Rosberg and Verstappen.

Grosjean now pits.
Verstappen now pits.
Lap 15
Massa now pits and lets the other drivers behind him get past.
Sainz receives a 5-second penalty for forcing another car (Alonso) off-track.

Team to Alonso – “Push now, Push now.“
Alonso – “Yes! I push, I’m pushing.“
Lap 17
Alonso now pits.
Hamilton now pits.

He’s back out on track behind the two Ferrari’s in fourth place. Rosberg now leads the race.

Team to Ricciardo – “You need to get through these cars quickly, they’re fighting each other.“
Lewis Hamilton now sets a fastest lap time.
Team to Perez – “Everything you’ve got, OK – everything you’ve got Checo.“
Lap 21
Rosberg now pits
Raikkonen now pits.
Vettel leads the race.
Ricciardo didn’t undercut Rosberg – his team mate seems to be faster at the moment.
Verstappen – “What do I do now? I’m stuck.” (He’s behind Ricciardo)
Lap 24
Vettel still leads the race – Hamilton right behind with Rosberg in third.
The two Red Bull’s have switched – Verstappen leads Ricciardo.
Lap 25
Verstappen gaining on time to Rosberg.
Team to Rosberg – “Verstappen is pushing hard just so you now.“
Rosberg – “Why is he pushing, does he have a pit stop soon?“
Team to Rosberg – “No, he’s just putting the pressure on you.”

Hamilton – “These tyres don’t really feel that great.“
Vettel still leads the race – Hamilton not liking the tyres he’s currently on.
Lap 28
Perez – “Why did you box me so late? Think of something to let me overtake, I cannot pass them.”
Lap 29
Vettel was called into the pits but continues – he’s leading the race.
Lap 30
Perez behind Massa – he’s been trying to get past for a few laps now.
He’s right behind the driver but cannot find his way past.
Lap 31
Vettel still out on track and leading the race despite being called into the pits – with the mechanics waiting.

Vettel being told to “box now”
He now comes into the pits.
Hamilton regains the lead of the Mexican Grand Prix
Lap 33
Raikkonen ahead of Vettel – he’s not happy with the tyres he’s on.
Lap 36
Team to Verstappen – “Keep it clean behind Rosberg, Max – you don’t know what’s going to happen later on in the race.“
Perez right behind Massa, Massa locks-up his tyres and gives Perez an opportunity however he can’t make his way past – yet.
Lap 38
Team to Ricciardo – “It’s clouded over a little bit, your tyres are looking good.“
Lap 40
Team to Hamilton – “Looks like track temperature is dropping, pace is coming up for everyone.”
Perez still behind Massa, he’s fighting to get past.

Hamilton now lapping the back markers.
There’s a lot of traffic coming their way.

Team to Hamilton – “Lewis we’re coming up to a lot of traffic.“

Raikkonen being told to box this lap.
He’s now in the pits.

Hamilton being told that he can use ‘overtake‘ to get past the back-markers as they’re ‘racing too‘.

Vettel sets a fastest lap time.
Hamilton making his way through the traffic.

Rosberg has lost time to his team-mate.
Perez still stuck behind Felipe Massa.
Verstappen has closed the gap down – he’s still behind Rosberg.
Lap 50
Ricciardo saying he has a problem with his left-rear tyre.
Verstappen closing the gap down the main straight on Nico Rosberg, Rosberg locks-up and that has given Verstappen a boost – he locks-up his tyres and goes off-track.
Team to Verstappen – “Hard luck, regroup and keep going.”

Ricciardo comes into the pits after reporting a tyre issue.
Lap 52
Ricciardo up into 5th place – he’s behind Vettel after changing tyres.
Hamilton leads the race.
Verstappen – “I hit some debris“

Ricciardo now sets a fastest lap time – he’s catching up after the tyre change and it seems to be working well for him.

Perez is still behind Massa
Ricciardo sets another fastest lap time.

Kvyat given a 5 second time penalty for leaving the track and gaining an advantage.
Verstappen has dropped from Rosberg slightly.
Lap 62
Raikkonen right behind Hulkenberg.
Vettel right be Verstappen.
Team telling Verstappen about the times, Verstappen replying that he is keeping an eye and can see his mirrors.
Vettel has made up a lot of time in the last 4 laps.

Hamilton still leading the race.

Ricciardo being told to keep going as he “will catch these cars at this pace.“

Hulkenberg spins and goes off-track
Verstappen goes off-track. He’s being told to give up the position to Vettel.
Vettel being told to stay calm.

Vettel telling his team that Verstappen is backing hip up into Ricciardo.

Final Lap
Hamilton leads the race.
Going round the final few corners.
Hamilton WINS the Mexican Grand Prix.
Verstappen being given a 5-second penalty, Vettel is up into 3rd place so he will be on the podium. Verstappen drops into 5th place and being told to leave.
