Max Verstappen Given 3-place Grid Penalty for Russian Grand Prix

Max Verstappen has been given a three-place grid penalty following the accident with Lewis Hamilton at Monza.

The 2021 Italian Grand Prix was an exciting race, not only for the top 3 drivers and Ricciardo winning the race but also for the battles which we saw – including the accident involving Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen.

The accident was being investigated for hours, after the race, by the stewards and minutes ago, we found out that Max Verstappen has been handed a three-place grid penalty for the 2021 Russian Grand Prix.

The stewards heard from the driver of car 33 (Max Verstappen) and the driver of car 44 (Lewis Hamilton) and team representatives, reviewing the video evidence and determined that the driver of car 33 was predominantly to blame for the collision with car 44 at Turn 2.”

Max Verstappen has been given a three-place grid penalty for the upcoming race in Russia – along with two penalty points, the first on his license in a 12-month period.
