Malaysia Grand Prix Dropped From Formula 1
It’s always sad to see a Grand Prix leave the Formula 1 Calendar and after 19 years, the rumours have been confirmed that Malaysia will no longer be a part of Formula 1 in 2018.
The 2017 Malaysia Grand Prix will be the country’s last – after a decision was taken jointly by Formula 1 and the Sepang International Circuit.
Malaysia joined the world of Formula 1 back in 1999 and have promised to thank their passionate supporters at this year’s Grand Prix – “We are determined to make this year’s event a fitting finale for the ground-breaking circuit.”
For the 2018 Formula 1 Calendar – we will be seeing the addition of French and German races but that will all be covered in another post.
Malaysia has built a reputable and loyal fan base with Formula 1 – it’s also established itself as a global tourist destination.

Not forgetting the Petronas Towers which are a notable landmark (Petronas’ headquarters) making the Malaysia Grand Prix an important race for the team.
