Lewis Hamilton Penalty For Bahrain Grand Prix
Yesterday, it was announced that Lewis Hamilton would be facing a five-place grid penalty for the Bahrain Grand Prix due to a gearbox change.
The sporting regulations mention that a gearbox must be used for six consecutive races hence the unscheduled change for Lewis Hamilton has now triggered an automatic penalty.

As we can see, Kevin Magnussen, Romain Grosjean and Marcus Ericsson are taking new gearbox changes too however they didn’t finish the first race of the 2018 Formula 1 season (Australian Grand Prix) so will not be facing a penalty.
We we all love about Formula 1 is that anything can happen! Make sure you check back for all the latest from Qualifying later on today.
