Lewis Hamilton has spoken about the pace of Red Bull Racing following on from the 2021 Bahrain Grand Prix which saw the World Champion take the win.
Lewis Hamilton:“…this is something fans have wanted for a long time. Of course, this is only one race so we don’t know what the future holds.”
“With the pace they have, they could be ahead a lot more but we’re going to work as hard as we can to try and stay close to this battle.”
Overall, it was a controversial race with the track limits however Mercedes’ strategy and his tyre management ultimately led Hamilton to the win – despite the team not having the best of weekends compared to Max Verstappen.
Max Verstappen had an extremely strong weekend, claiming pole for the race. You can click here for the race recap.
Even though Verstappen didn’t win the Bahrain Grand Prix, it seems like we can all see that Red Bull have the pace (not mentioning other teams such as McLaren) who haven’t shown their true potential – yet.
We also have Sebastian Vettel with the Aston Martin team and Fernando Alonso with Alpine – all eager to push their cars and offer all of us Formula 1 fans the battles which we’ve been waiting to see.
