Kimi Raikkonen Leaves Ferrari With A SHOCK Move to Sauber
OK, I have to say that I didn’t expect this – at all! I didn’t think I would be sat here, writing about Kimi Raikkonen moving to Sauber but here I am, writing that Kimi Raikkonen is leaving Ferrari with a SHOCK move to Sauber.
As soon as I received the news, I stared at the screen for a good few minutes before realising that it was true!
This comes after many weeks of speculation (and silence) from the Scuderia Ferrari team who did their best to give nothing away and we have finally found out that for the 2019 season, Kimi Raikkonen will be driving for Sauber, the team that gave him his F1 debut back in 2001.
From what I know, this is a two-year deal for Kimi Raikkonen so for all those fans who signed a petition for his to stay in Formula 1 – you’re safe for the next two years! 🙂
So, who will be replacing Kimi Raikkonen at Ferrari? If you haven’t heard – Charles Leclerc will be taking over the Finn, driving alongside Sebastian Vettel.
Ferrari have made the switch for a reason, I’m unsure why at the moment as I think there’s a balance between Sebastian Vettel and Kimi Raikkonen which works well in Ferrari’s favour.
Is this switch to give Kimi Raikkonen the opportunity to race without team orders over who’s the number 1 and number 2 driver? Is it to mould Charles Leclerc as a Ferrari driver for the future?
