James Allison Leaves Ferrari
Earlier today, the announcement was made that James Allison will be leaving Ferrari, with immediate effect.
After 3 years of working with Ferrari, the technical director and the team came together in a joint decision to part ways. This comes after widespread rumours suggesting that he would be leaving and even questions being thrown to team boss after the Hungarian Grand Prix (see more here).
It’s been a tough year for Ferrari and James Allison alike, his wife sadly passed away earlier this year, in March, and had to prioritise his time with the team and his family.
After the announcement, team boss Maurizio Arrivabene had the following to say – “The team would like to thank James for his commitment and sacrifice during the time spent together and we wish him success and serenity for his future endeavours.“
The former head of team engines for Ferrari, Mattia Binotto will now be replacing James Allison and will takeover the role as chief technical officer.
