Hungarian Grand Prix Preview – Sauber Formula 1 Team

Fast approaching this weekend is the 11th round of the FIA Formula One World Championship -the Hungarian Grand Prix in Budapest followed by the final back-to-back race in Germany before the summer break.

During the Hungarian Grand Prix which is taking place in Budapest, the Sauber F1 Team will be testing it’s new rear wing yet again after it was first introduced in Silverstone a couple of weeks ago.

Here’s what both drivers have to say ahead of the Hungarian Grand Prix this weekend.

Marcus Ericsson – Sauber Formula 1 Team

Looking back to last year’s Hungarian Grand Prix, my memories are not too bad! I was able to score one point by finishing the race in the top ten.

We had decent pace in the race and I hope that we will be able to achieve a similar result this season too.

It’s good that we can continue our testing with the new rear in order to proceed with our aero evaluation and it will be important to compare the date which we collected from Silverstone to that information which we will gather in Budapest.

Felipe Nasr – Sauber Formula 1 Team

This month, July, it’s packed with race weekends – after the Austrian and British Grand Prix we head to the last two race weekends before the summer break.

Last year the Hungaroring, we were strong than we expected in the race and with P11, I was close to the points which is always a good feeling.

Now I’m looking forward to getting a first taste of the Sauber C35-Ferrari and with the new rear wing.

Below we have some extras….

Hungarian Grand Prix – Track Facts

The Hungaroring is a circuit where the cars are set up to carry all the available downforce. The track features a sequence of flowing low to medium speed corners with short straights.

Braking stability as well as good traction is crucial for the drivers.

With the limited track width, it doesn’t offer or allow many ideal lines therefore overtaking is relatively difficult putting an emphasis on the importance of getting good grid position from the qualifying sessions during the weekend.

Lots more to come soon ahead of the Hungarian Grand Prix this weekend! 🙂
