With the track parade now over, the drivers are getting ready ahead of the Hungarian Grand Prix.
Hungarian Grand Prix – Weather Forecast & Current Conditions
As things are, the race looks like it will be starting with sunshine on a complete contrast to yesterday’s qualifying session where we saw terrible rainfall.
The track temperatures are around the 50 degree mark but there are some rumours of rainfall on the way so we could see track conditions changing during the race.

Preparations are taking place on the cars….
Pit Lane Now OPEN
Verstappen reporting problems with his car saying “it’s hard to drive“
Cars now lining up on the track.
Massa has a steering problem and his team are now trying to resolve the problem.
Marcus Ericsson is starting from the pit-lane.
Drivers are at the top of the track for the national anthem.
Track Temperature – 52 Degrees
Formation Lap
The drivers are making their way round the track for the formation lap and now all lining up on the grid, ready for the race start.
- Massa/Williams changed the steering rack on his car.
Hungarian Grand Prix LIVE – Lights Out!
Hamilton takes the lead, Rosberg gets up to second place – Ricciardo ahead of his team-mate, Vettel in fifth and Alonso in 6th place. Button in 8th place.
Raikkonen loses a place, down in 15th place.
Lap 2
Hamilton leads.
There is quite a gap between Hamilton and Rosberg already….
Lap 3
Hamilton now sets the fastest lap of the race.
DRS enabled
Lap 5
Bottas makes his way past Button – he’s reporting a problem “pedals going to the floor” which is why everyone seems to be making their way past the McLaren driver.
Button – “Game over“
McLaren – “Jenson, stay out – stay out“
Lap 6
Rosberg sets a fastest lap time.
Lap 7
Raikkonen now up into 11th place – he’s on the soft tyre and catching up to Grosjean.
Lap 8
No one has come into the pits – yet. The tyres seem to be doing ok for everyone considering the heat and sunshine. (Doesn’t look like we’ll be seeing any rain)
Button comes into the pits, tyre change and is back out on the track.
If drivers are told anything through the radio, they have to come in for a timed penalty and most will also take advantage of this for a tyre change.
Lap 9
Hamilton sets another fastest lap of the race.
Stewards are investigation the radio conversation between Button and his team – this is getting silly now as he clearly had/has an issue with pedals.
Just been given a drive-through penalty.
Lap 13
Hamilton sets another fastest lap time.
Rosberg in second followed by Ricciardo and Verstappen.

Lap 14
Another fastest lap time from Lewis Hamilton – he definitely is on a mission!
Lap 15
Button saying what everyone thinks – “Someone needs to read up on what’s safe and what’s not” in regards to the penalty he received for the radio conversation to do with the pedal issue he’s having.
Vettel pits.
Lap 16
Ricciardo battling with Bottas for fifth place.
Hamilton comes into the pits, onto the soft tyres.
Rosberg now takes the lead.
Lap 17
Bottas now pits letting Ricciardo and Vettel now go past.
Verstappen and Raikkonen battling away – Raikkonen stays ahead in fifth place.
Lap 18
Rosberg now comes into the pits – Hamilton now makes his way down the main straight and goes back into the lead.
Ricciardo sets a fastest lap of the race.
Lap 19
Raikkonen and Verstappen still battling – Raikkonen remains in the lead and places his car in the perfect places.
Lap 20
Hamilton reports – “Struggling for pace“
Lap 21
The gap is now closing between Rosberg and Hamilton – Hamilton struggling for pace, Rosberg catching up to his team-mate along with Ricciardo who’s catching the two Merecdes drivers.
RedBull to Ricciardo – “You’re one second quicker than the Mercedes, Well done, you’re doing a good job mate“
He’s catching up and closing the gap to both….
Lap 25
Raikkonen still hasn’t come into the pits – the tyres are still good.
Vettel is a little bit quicker than Ricciardo, Hamilton now being told to “pick up the pace” to which he replied “I’m trying“.
Lap 27
Raikkonen still ahead of Verstappen.
Hamilton still leads the race, Rosberg in second along with Ricciardo and Vettel who are both closing the gap.
Lap 28
Ferrari to Raikkonen – “Pace is still good Kimi, hang in there.”
Lap 30
Kimi Raikkonen now comes into the pits.
Back out onto the soft tyres.
Raikkonen is back out on the grid in 7th place – from 14th, he made his way up to 5th place and now dropped to 7th. On the soft tyres, he should be able to do some overtaking!
Lap 31
Hamilton still leads, Rosberg was closing the gap however he’s now dropped back slightly.
Raikkonen now makes his way past Fernando Alonso, up into 6th place.
Lap 34
Mercedes now under pressure, Ricciardo comes into pits on a fresh set of tyres.
Mercedes tell Hamilton to pick up the pace or they’ll bring in Rosberg to pit first…..
Lap 36
Vettel now up into third place, his pace is looking good.
Raikkonen up into 6th place – he’s also looking strong on the soft tyres.
Mercedes have put pressure onto Hamilton, neither of the drivers have come into the pits – yet….
Lap 39
RedBull to Verstappen – “We’ve had a warning for going off-track limits“
Another two warnings and he will receive a penalty.
Verstappen now comes into the pits.
Lap 40
Hulkenberg and Palmer are both coming into the pits.
Palmer is now ahead of Hulkenberg.
Lap 41
Lewis Hamilton now comes into the pits.
Lap 42
Vettel comes into the pits.
Back onto the track – ahead of Felipe Massa. He’s in fifth place with team-mate Raikkonen in fourth.
Rosberg is in the lead but he is now making his way into the pits.
Lap 43
Hamilton sets a fastest middle sector of the race and re-takes the lead in the race.
Lap 49
Jolyon Palmer spins and comes off-track. He now re-joins the track but he has lost a couple of places which isn’t good news for him.
Lap 50
RedBull to Verstappen – “Track limits” he’s received another warning.
Verstappen to RedBull – “Yeah but I lost a lot of time.“
That doesn’t count…..
Lap 51
Hamilton still leads the race.

Raikkonen now re-joins the track after coming into the pits, he’s in 6th place and catching up to Verstappen who is now on his second warning for not respecting the track-limits.
Lap 52
Hamilton still leads but the gap does look a little like it’s a little bit closer between the two team-mates.
Vettel has good pace, he’s going through the blue-flags and catching up to the front.
Lap 53
Hamilton getting caught up behind the drivers who aren’t moving out of the way like they should be. The gap between the two team-mates is closing but Hamilton has pushed and he’s now out of ‘danger’.
Lap 54
McLaren to Alonso – “we’ve had another warning at track four“
Alonso – “we have 2 or 3 (warnings)?“
McLaren to Alonso – “We’re now at 3 warnings, 3 warnings for track limits.“
Lap 55
Raikkonen has really closed the gap to Verstappen – Raikkonen looks stronger as his tyres have a lot more grip and is right behind the RedBull driver.
Lap 57
Raikkonen hits Verstappen – he has damage to his front wing.
You’re only allowed one move when defending and it looks like Verstappen changed direction more than once.
Raikkonen has closed the gap again.
Lap 60
Raikkonen is right behind the RedBull driver but can’t quite get past.
Hamilton still leads the race, Rosberg second and Ricciardo in third. Vettel in fourth – catching up to his ex-teammate.
Lap 62
McLaren to Button – “Box this lap, box this lap – we’re going to retire the car.”
Lap 63
Rosberg is closing the gap again – he’s right behind Hamilton and Vettel is right behind Ricciardo, the traffic is helping the drivers to remain close.
Lap 64
Hamilton pushes and is clear from his teammate for now.
Verstappen is still keeping Raikkonen behind – he’s being rather aggressive with his defending as we saw earlier with more than one switch.
Lap 65
Vettel only a second behind Ricciardo.
He’s closed the gap too….
Lap 66
Raikkonen still behind Verstappen.
Hamilton still leads the race with Rosberg behind.
Lap 67
Rosberg is now in DRS range to Hamilton
Lap 68
Raikkonen goes wide and locks up – he’s lost time.
Lap 70
Lewis Hamilton WINS the Hungarian Grand Prix.
He’s now back into the lead of the world championship.
