Formula 1 – What’s Going On At Ferrari?
To start off, the Austrian Grand Prix wasn’t as exciting as we’d hoped for, the drivers were all behaving themselves, the weather was playing fair and only just before the halfway mark did things start to get exciting.
After Vettel’s incident today, there’s one thing I want to question – What’s going on at Ferrari?
This is a team that puts hundreds of thousands into the development of their cars and equipment only for their race strategies and unreliabilities to keep setting them back.
I personally thought that this year, they would be a lot closer to their rivals (Mercedes) and with a lot more race wins for their drivers but that’s not the case, unfortunately.
What we saw in the Austrian Grand Prix is something that should NOT have happened – you can argue and say that it could have happened to anyone however Ferrari kept Sebastian Vettel out longer than they should have. An earlier pit-stop would have avoided this situation and could have seen both drivers on the podium.
The same can be said for Raikkonen, the team brought him in too early meaning his tyres weren’t as fresh or in the best condition for the end of the race – if they were he could have put the pressure on Verstappen earlier and maybe even bringing home a second-place win.
What’s Going On At Ferrari? What Do They Need To Do?
Ferrari really need to get things together for the rest of the season. They have potential and they have two wonderful drivers, with experience, who can push the car to the limit.
They need to find a balance as a team and stop focusing on what their rivals are doing – they need to make strategies work for their drivers and take control of situations during the races.
Unreliabilities can’t be happening this much at this stage of the season…

Apart from that, a big well done to Kimi Raikkonen on his third-place win at the Austrian Grand Prix!
Come on Ferrari – you have so much potential!!
