Formula 1 Watches – We’re taking a look at the history and connection between Formula 1 and Luxury Watch Brands in collaboration with thewatchgallery.com

Formula 1 has always been considered as a ‘glamourous’ sport so it’s normal to have a partnership with Luxury Watch Brands, which we have seen over many, many years.

In this post, I’ve decided to write about some of the most well-known watch brands which have partnered up with Formula 1 over the years.

 Hublot

Starting with Hublot, this was the official Formula 1 partner several year ago and during their partnership they worked together to create a number of lovely limited edition watch models.

One of the great things about their partnership was the time and dedication that was taken to create the variety of different styles.

Some of watches were designed to use specific bezels and elements which had actually been created to look like brake discs from cars.

Not only did the watches feel great but they looked amazing too.

IWC

IWC might not be the standout brand or a brand that might be remembered like the others however they also partnered with Formula 1.

Through their sponsorship of the Mercedes AMG Petronas F1 team, they managed to draw attention to the team with their special-edition models.

Benefiting both sides – they launched the Ingenieur Models.

TAG Heur

TAG Heur is the most-known and longest running collaboration with Formula 1.

Their watches have always been designed to be bold, standout and durable plus being a lot more affordable for everyone.

Offering classic models that look great everyday – no matter the occasion.

Rolex

Ah, here we have one of the most well-known collaborations between a luxury watch brand and Formula 1.

You will have seen Rolex featured everywhere, it’s the official time keeper during the races and also countdown to each race sharing how many days, hours and minutes to go until the next Grand Prix.

I haven’t featured any pictures of it but the Rolex Daytona is one of the most well-known watches in the sports industry, being named after the Daytona Circuit in Florida, US.

Instead of a photo – there’s a lovely video showcasing the watch, the history and some of the design elements which make this unique.

So there we have some history between luxury watch brands and Formula 1 and I think it’s lovely to see how things have evolved over time and how some pieces always remain true classics and known for their uniqueness.
