Track Parade – The drivers are currently on-track for the track parade.
Both Lewis Hamilton and Jenson Button visited the crowds after the track parade, throwing signed caps to fans and signing autographs saying – “it’s one of the best tracks in the world with the best fans.“
British Grand Prix LIVE – Pit Lane Now OPEN
The Pit Lane is NOW open and cars are making their way to the track ready for the start of the race.
Approximately 30 minutes until lights out.
Weather Conditions- Blue skies on one side of the track and black clouds on the other, there is rainfall around Silverstone but none on the track – just yet.
This could lead to an exciting race with the track conditions changing and could end up in a few surprise results.
Wind and rain…..Lots of rain ahead of the race…
British Grand Prix – Starting behind safety car.
The race stewards have now confirmed that the race will be starting behind a safety car following the heavy rain.
Marcus Ericsson starting from the pit lane after being given the ‘go-ahead’ following his accident in free practice 3 yesterday.
21 degrees track temperature and the sun has now started to shine but there still are black clouds over the track.

Lap 1
The race has now started behind the safety car.
Lap 2
The safety car is still leading the cars around the track, Hamilton and Vettel don’t want to safety car to go just yet as there is ‘standing water‘ still on track.
Lap 3
Hamilton saying – “the track is going to be inters soon” talking about the track conditions and tyres to switch to.
Safety car still leading the race.
Hamilton – “Safety car is really slow, its hard to keep the temperatures up“

The safety car will be coming in at the end of this lap…
Lap 6
The race has now started – Lewis Hamilton leading the race and what a good start he had.
Lots of drivers coming into the pits to change – the top 4 drivers are staying out, the rest are coming in for a tyre change.
Chaos in the pit lane!
Verstappen closing the gap to Rosberg…. Hamilton leads and gets away!
Lap 7
Ricciardo now pits.
Lewis Hamilton sets a fastest lap of the race.
Wehrlein out of the race – Virtual Safety Car
Lap 8
Hamilton now pits along with Rosberg and Verstappen.
Virtual safety car now gone and Hamilton leads the race again. Rosberg in second, Verstappen in third and Perez in fourth.
Lap 9
The lap between Hamilton and Rosberg getting wider, Verstappen doesn’t seem to be as close to Roseberg anymore after a change of tyres.
Lap 10
A battle between Hulkenberg and Bottas – the Williams driver remains in the lead.
Ericsson seems to be having problems with his car.
Lap 11
Bottas spins and is off-track, he’s now lost places and is down to 13th place with Button right behind and closing the gap.
Lap 12
Hamilton leads the race and there’s now quite a gap between him and his team-mate. Rosberg and Verstappen in second and third.
Ricciardo being told that his pace is good and to look after tyres.
Rosberg now seems to be closing the gap to Hamilton.
Hulkenberg now closing the gap to Massa in 8th.
Lap 13
Lewis Hamilton now sets a fastest lap time of the race.
Jenson Button right behind Bottas in the Williams……
Hulkenberg nearly made his way by Massa but going over water makes him lose grip….
Lap 15
The sun has started to shine and it looks like we’ll have a few more pit stops soon….
Alonso now closes the gap to Hulkenberg.
Lap 16
Vettel comes into the pits – onto the medium compound tyres!
Raikkonen now sets a fastest lap time of the race.
Verstappen makes his way to second place, overtaking Rosberg who tries to overtake again but unable to.
Lap 17
Lewis Hamilton now sets a fastest lap time of the race. Raikkonen now pits.
Massa pits along with Kvyat too.
Hamilton now pits.
Lap 18
DRS enabled
Verstappen sets a fastest lap time.
Verstappen now leads the race after Hamilton comes into the pits.
After setting a fastest lap time, Vettel spins and comes off track.
Lap 19
Verstappen back into the pits, Hamilton re-leads the race.
Alonso not happy with the race strategy saying a lot of places have been lost.
Carlos Sainz spins on-track but saves his car.
Lap 20
Rosberg now sets a fastest lap time – Alonso closing the gap to Massa in 9th place.
Alonso trying to overtake Massa, he went off-track slightly and it looks like he’s very determined to gain places.
Lap 21
Verstappen sets a fastest lap time of the race.
Hamilton leads the race. Perez in fourth place with Ricciardo behind him.
Lap 22
Ricciardo makes his way past Perez – Alonso very determined to get past Massa.
Lap 24
Rosberg picking up a lot of speed who sets a fastest lap time.
Alonso goes off-track and after returning on-track tries to get overtaken by Bottas who gets caught by the rain going off-track and allowing Alonso past.
Lap 25
Another fastest lap time for Rosberg.
Carlos Sainz goes off-track and spins at the same corner as Alonso nearly getting caught by Raikkonen.
Lap 26
Alonso – “I don’t know if my car is ok, I think so“
Rio Haryanto now goes off-track with yellow flags being waved….
Lap 27
So much happening during the British Grand Prix Live – all the updates as they happen right here.
Battle for 9th with Massa, Kvyat and Vettel.
Lap 28
Hamilton going very slow round turn 1 and 2 – he’s now picked up speed but Verstappen is closing the gap.
Rosberg has also closed the gap to Verstappen in second place.
Lap 29
Vettel makes his way past Kvyat – no contact between the two…. 😉
Lap 31
Hamilton leads the race, Verstappen still in second with Rosberg in third place, closing the gap.
Lap 32
Rosberg with DRS really closes the gap however Verstappen just covers him off but for how long….Perez spins at Turn 1, costing him time but luckily he saves the car.
Lap 34
Whilst the battle for second place happens between Verstappen and Rosberg, the lead gets wider for Hamilton who’s leading the race.
Lap 35
Rosberg – “he’s moving twice” meaning Verstappen is moving direction more than once during an overtake….
Rosberg now closing the gap again – Verstappen is defending his place. Verstappen stays ahead but the gap is very, very close.
Lap 36
Rosberg trying to get past, Verstappen struggling with the rear tyres.
Hamilton sets a fastest lap time.
Lap 38
Rosberg makes his way past Verstappen.
Lap 39
Vettel & Mass under investigation after Vettel forced Massa off-track.
Vettel lost control off the car, he also went off-track too…
Lap 40
Jolyon Palmer serving a penalty but he’s also out of the race, retiring.
Raikkonen is closing the gap to Perez.
Alonso pits – new set of mediums.
Lap 41
Rosberg sets a fastest lap time.
Vettel has a penalty – five seconds added to his race time for forcing another car off-track.
If he pits, it’ll be a five-second penalty taken there.
Lap 42
Alonso makes his way past Bottas and is up into 13th place after pitting and changing his tyres.
Rosberg sets another fastest lap time.
Hamilton picking up the pace.

Raikkonen has been making his way through the laps and is now closing the gap to Perez….

7 laps to go until the end of the race – things have quietened down…. does this mean we’ll have a battle at the end of the race?
Rosberg has started to close the gap and can see Hamilton in his sights…

Rosberg – “Gearbox problem”
He’s suffering…. the team have told him a setting, they’re allowed to do that if there is an imminent problem about to occur.
Team – “Avoid 7th gear Nico”
Raikkonen makes his way past Perez.
Lap 48
5 laps remaining.
Hamilton still leads the race.
Verstappen closing the gap to Rosberg who’s suffering with a gearbox problem.
Lap 49
4 Laps remaining.
Verstappen closing the gap to Rosberg quickly, he’s still suffering with gearbox problems with it getting ‘stuck’ in 7th gear.
Team to Verstappen – “Rosberg is under investigation after some of the comments made on the radio“

Verstappen still behind Rosberg.
Hamilton still leading the race.
Rosberg will be investigated after the race.

The final lap has started – Hamilton is now on the way to winning the British Grand Prix.
Lewis Hamilton WINS the British Grand Prix – crowds are cheering all around.
Rosberg in second place and Verstappen in third.
