CONFIRMED: Robert Kubica To Drive In Free Practice 1 – Spanish Grand Prix
Location: Spain
Race Weekend: Spanish Grand Prix
Circuit: Circuit de-Barcelona Catalunya
It’s something that Formula 1 fans have been waiting for and even though he isn’t racing on Sunday in the Spanish Grand Prix, Robert Kubica has been confirmed for Free Practice 1 – replacing Sergey Sirotkin.
This will be the first time that Robert Kubica is taking place in a Grand Prix weekend since 2010.
Following the announcement, here’s what Williams Chief Technical Officer, Paddy Lowe had to say.
Paddy Lowe: “We have Robert Kubica taking part in FP1 in place of Sergey – his first of three FP1 appearances this season. We have a busy Friday programme and it’ll be interesting to get Robert’s feedback on the car.”
So, he might not be driving in the race this Sunday for the Spanish Grand Prix but there’s no denying that Robert Kubica is one of the most respected drivers – not only amongst drivers but well-respected by Formula 1 fans in general.
This is definitely a step in the right direction and it’s safe to say that we’re all looking forward to seeing what he can do.
The Formula 1 Girl 🙂
