Are Ferrari Back? Hamilton thinks so….
So, it’s the ultimate question – are Ferrari back? It seems so!
They have been proving themselves since pre-season testing and whilst Ferrari driver, Sebastian Vettel did what he could to downplay the situation to the media – Australia really gave us a glimpse of what’s to come for the 2017 Formula 1 Season.
After the season-opener, it’s now safe to say that all eyes are firmly placed on Ferrari – the top two teams after the Australian Grand Prix are Ferrari and Mercedes however, don’t jump to any conclusions with Red Bull Racing either!
Remember – they didn’t have a strong start last year either however come to Monaco and suddenly everything fell into place for them and they were battling with the top teams.
Since pre-season testing, Hamilton has said time and time again that Ferrari are a team to consider in the battle for the title and after the race in Australia, he said the following – “This year you’re going to see the best, it’s going to be the best against the best with the best drivers at the top.“
Hamilton – “I am really grateful to have that fight with Vettel against the Ferrari which is the next best team – finally, we can have an actual race! It’s going to be close and I believe we can beat them.”
Both Hamilton and Vettel have claimed the 7 of the last 9 titles in Formula 1 however they’ve never had a head-to-head battle in a world championship fight – until now it seems.
This is music to any Formula 1 fan’s ears – it’s something that we’ve all been waiting to see and it’s been a long time coming for the Scuderia Ferrari team who deserve to be at the top of the field, battling it out.
