Race Start – Lights Out
Vettel out of the Russian Grand Prix along with Hulkenberg – Vettel hit by Kvyat on the opening lap.

Safety Car out and drivers coming into the pits to change tyres…
Lap 4
Rosberg leads the race, Bottas overtakes Raikkonen and Hamilton overtakes Massa – Alonso now into 7th place.
Verstappen is now under pressure from Fernando Alonso, Button in 13th place….
Lap 6
Ericsson overtakes Kvyat and Kvyat now overtakes Ericsson however Kvyat left the track and gained a place…
Lap 7
Hamilton makes his way past Raikkonen and now into third place – moving through the grid quickly – can Hamilton beat his team-mate??
Lap 8
Nico Rosberg now sets a fastest lap – Hamilton is making his way and catching up to Bottas.
Lap 9
Kvyat had a 10 second penalty – came into the pits and now re-joins the race.
Hamilton is still making his way – from the start he’s moved up 7 places and now in third….
Lap 13
Nico Rosberg sets another fastest lap – Hamilton is still behind Bottas….
Nasr had a slow puncture – now coming into the pits….
Lap 20
Hamilton just ‘threw’ his car past Bottas and also made his way past Alonso – now into fourth place after pitting.
Verstappen in third place and Hamilton closing the gap.
Lap 21
Bottas just makes his way past Fernando Alonso – the same time as Ferrari are pitting Raikkonen, it’s going to be close……

Hamilton just sets a fastest lap.
Lap 25
Sauber are doing well with Ericsson currently in 8th place however Alonso just makes his way past and the two drivers switch – Alonso 8th and Ericsson 9th.
Jenson Button down in 15th place at the moment….

10 second penalty for Sainz for forcing another driver off the track… (Palmer)
Lap 27
Hamilton now in second place with Raikkonen in third.
Lap 28
Kvyat makes his way past Pascale Wehrlein after he loses grip on his tyres….
Lap 29
Lewis Hamilton currently in second-place sets another fastest lap of the race, putting the pressure onto his team-mate Rosberg.
Lap 30
Big battle for 8th place with four cars joining in – McLaren’s Alonso still in 7th place and doing well for the team….
Lap 32
Rosberg will start facing traffic soon – maybe this will close the gap between the two Mercedes’ drivers…
11.01 seconds gap between the two….

Ricciardi gets past Kvyat and is now in 15th place.

The gap between the two Mercedes’ drivers is closing
Verstappen is now out of the race after a problem with his car at the beginning of the race…
“There’s something wrong with the engine” – Verstappen says to his team

Mercedes have just told Hamilton that he has a “water pressure issue” – currently running in second place.
Lap 41
The gap has opened up between the two Mercedes drivers, since Hamilton was told about the water pressure issue, he’s been ‘taking things easy‘ shall we say….
Lap 42
Mercedes now update Hamilton to say ‘the pressure has been stabilised‘ – does that mean Hamilton can start racing again!?
Lap 49
5 laps are now remaining for the Russian Grand Prix – Rosberg still leading the race with Hamilton behind and Raikkonen in third place.
Button into the points – making his way into the top 10!
Lap 52
Rosberg still leading the race with a 17 second gap – Hamilton in second place and Raikkonen still in third.
Lap 53
Rosberg WINS the Russian Grand Prix 2016 followed by Hamilton in second place and Raikkonen in third place.
Bottas in fourth place, Massa in fifth and Alonso in sixth place – a great result for the McLaren Honda team.
