Sauber German Grand Prix Practice
Today was the last practice session before the summer break and the Sauber F1 Team was able to go through the planned programme in both practice sessions ahead of the German Grand Prix later this weekend.
However, it wasn’t a trouble-free day for the team at the Hockenheimring.
Sauber driver, Felipe Nasr had issues with the drivability and handling of his car and Marcus Ericsson had an issue with the fuel pump at the end of FP2 (Free Practice 2).
In Free Practice 1, the team continued with the aero tests on both Sauber cars and in the afternoon, the focus was on race preparation with short and long runs on the soft and supersoft tyres.

2nd Practice – 18th – Time: 1:18.130 (28 Laps)
“It’s been a decent Friday, I was able to run a good amount of laps in both the practice sessions and we tried the new rear wing again in FP1 (Free Practice 1).“
“We will continue our in-depth analysis but we seem to be a step forward which is nice. We also plan to keep this rear wing for the rest of this weekend too which is a positive sign. Let’s see where we stand tomorrow.“

2nd Practice – 22nd – Time: 1:19.295 (41 Laps)
“It was a difficult day for me, I didn’t feel comfortable in the car. The handling as well as the drivability of the car is quite weak at the moment.“
“We were not able to get the tyres to work properly or likewise with the set-up of the car. We will look into different areas of the car to understand the issues and where they come from.“
“We need to sort it out for the rest of the weekend.“

More to come this weekend ahead of the German Grand Prix – make sure you check back soon!
