Silverstone F1 Testing – Day 1
Today is the first day of the two-day Formula 1 (in-season) testing at the Silverstone Circuit where the British Grand Prix was held just a couple of days ago and with Lewis Hamilton winning the race.
The weather has been, overall, miserable however it’s these track conditions that Fernando Alonso loves and his car suits. It’s been a great day for the McLaren-Honda team (something you don’t hear too often) with them topping the time sheets in testing so far….

RedBull Racing featured the Halo Concept again – something that’s not proving entirely popular with fans, commentators and drivers.
Not only does it look rather strange but it doesn’t allow the drivers to get in and out of their cars easily (which is needed) and their view isn’t 100% clear however saying this, Formula 1 is known for the brilliance and talent in design so hopefully we will be seeing improvements before 2017 and perhaps a few different ideas before they’re added onto the 2017 cars next season.

Earlier this morning we saw Esteban Ocon driving the Mercedes where he came fastest in the session, this was prior to Fernando Alonso starting his run who has since topped the time-sheets. Esteban Ocon is in second place on the time-sheets.

The Haas team is currently waiting to get their car on-track for some runs. Sauber is a team which will NOT be participating due to ongoing financial issues.
More updates soon as Silverstone F1 testing will be taking place today and tomorrow at the Silverstone Circuit.
