Ferrari Confirm Raikkonen For 2017
Ferrari have now confirmed that Kimi Raikkonen will remain a part of the team for the 2017 season as Sebastian Vettel’s team-mate, making the announcement ahead of the British Grand Prix this weekend.
Raikkonen had the following to say – “I would not be here if I did not enjoy it or if I did not feel I can do 100% and that hasn’t changed. I feel like I drive as well as I have driven. If I feel I was not driving well, I would be the first one to go away and not do it. I wouldn’t have motivation and I would not be here wasting my own time or the team’s time.“
Kimi Raikkonen is now equal in the points with his team-mate Sebastian Vettel in the championship title after he finished third in last weeks thrilling Austrian Grand Prix. You can see all the details from the Austrian Grand Prix in this post here, it’s the full race recap with all the details as it happened live during the race.
The two work well together, there is a balance between them and they push each other to do better as racing drivers but there is also a mutual respect between them offering stability (and experience) for the team.
“I’ve always said it that my last team would be Ferrari and it’s still like that.“
More to come from the British Grand Prix this weekend!
