We’re getting ready for the 2018 British Grand Prix, the sun is shining and it’s a beautiful day at Silverstone. The atmosphere is great and everyone is enjoying the day, getting ready for the 2018 British Grand Prix Qualifying session.

Brief Interview From The Top 2 Drivers In The Championship

Vettel: “I’m happy with being 1 point ahead, I’m here to take every opportunity we get. We are trying to get a lot of points and do what we can to have the advantage.”

“For us, I have a feeling that it’s just time till we gain that advantage.”

Hamilton: “I’m grateful that this happened now and we’re only 1 point behind, it was going to happen at some stage and I’m happy that we’re just one point behind.”

NEWS – Sebastian Vettel missed most of practice 3 due to injuring his neck – according to reports, he’s having injections and massages to ease the pain.

Q1 – QUALIFYING LIVE – 2018 British Grand Prix

The weather is beautiful at Silverstone, the track temperature is 55 degrees.

The pit-lane is now open and cars are making their way out onto track.

Both Ferrari’s are now out on track along with Haas and Toro Rosso.

 Lance Stroll goes OFF-TRACK – he’s in the gravel in sector 2 – RED FLAG

The session has stopped as Robert Kubica looks on from the garage – cars are now making their way back to the pit-lane.

Drivers are now back in the pits and waiting for the session to restart.

The track temperature has dropped to 52 degrees.

The session has resumed and drivers are making their way back out onto the track – Charles Leclerc is the first driver out on track.

Raikkonen sets the fastest lap time – 1:27.647

Sergey Sirotkin goes off track and into the gravel however he managed to restart the car and makes his way back into the pit lane.

Hamilton and Bottas are now on their out lap. The top 3 drivers at the moment – Raikkonen, Leclerc and Ricciardo.

Raikkonen improving on his time yet again, his team-mate Sebastian Vettel on the other hand is down in P13.

Vettel now sets the fastest last time, with a new track record of 1:26.585 with Hamilton and Bottas right behind, knocking Raikkonen down to P5.

Q1 – Knock Out Zone






Drivers are now making their way back to the grid and getting ready for Q2.

For the first time this year, Carlos Sainz didn’t make it through to Q2.

Q2 – QUALIFYING LIVE – 2018 British Grand Prix

Lewis Hamilton is the first car out on track followed by Bottas who’s on the medium tyre – they’re splitting the strategy as Hamilton is on the soft tyres.

Max Verstappen is the first Red Bull Racing car out on track, followed by Ricciardo who now joins the track.

Valtteri Bottas now sets a new track record of  1:26.413

Sebastian Vettel looks like he’s pushing on this lap – he goes faster – 1:26.372 now setting the new track record.

With 10 minutes to go, it’s Vettel, Bottas, Raikkonen, Verstappen and Ricciardo who make up the top 5.

 Lewis Hamilton now sets a new track record of 1:26.256

Drivers are now making their way back into the garages and getting their cars ready for the final few laps in Q2 – there’s around 5 minutes to go.

 Hamilton now makes his way back out onto the track – he’s the first car out with around 2 minutes to go.

Hamilton: “The rears are a little bit hot already.”

There’s under a minute to go so let’s see what happens.

Lewis Hamilton now comes back into the pits.

Q2 – Knock Out Zone






Both Haas drivers are through to Q3 – a great result for them!

Sainz: “I think there was a mistake in front of me so I missed out a few tenths which didn’t allow me to get into Q2 – the negative is we were fighting to get into Q2 and normally we fight to get in Q3 and we need to see why we weren’t as fast this weekend.”

Drivers are now making their way back to the garage and getting ready for Q3 to see who will be on pole for the 2018 British Grand Prix tomorrow.

Sebastian Vettel sets a new track record – 1:25.936 

He’s on provisional pole.

 Hamilton now sets a new track record with 1:25.892


It’s Hamilton, Vettel, Raikkonen, Bottas, Verstappen, Ricciardo, Magnussen, Grosjean, Leclerc and Ocon.

Brief Reaction – Qualifying

Hamilton: “These guys here are the best. It’s been such a hard weekend and I was praying that I can do it for you guys – I’m just so happy.”

Vettel: “It was very close, the last lap I was happy but I seem to lose a lot of time but overall it was very close and I’m happy with second.”

Raikkonen: “I’m not too satisfied, I could have been faster but I locked the wheel and that’s how it goes. I think the car should be good tomorrow but it won’t be an easy race with the tyres but its see what will happen.”
